Professional Learning Communities and Collective Teacher Efficacy: Mediation via Trust in Colleagues Among Primary School Teachers in Malaysian

The aim of this study was to explore the role of professional learning communities in strengthening collective teacher efficacy among public primary school teachers in Selangor, Malaysia. For this purpose cluster random sampling approach was used for data collection and data was collected from 307 teachers using following research instrument: Professional Learning Communities Assessment - Revised, Collective Teacher Belief Scale, and Omnibus T-Scale (Faculty trust in colleagues part). Both Bahasa Malay and English version of the instruments were used for data collection. Data analysis was done using statistical software SmartPLS4. The findings supported direct, significant, and positive relationship between professional learning communities and collective teacher efficacy. Also, teachers' trust in colleagues emerged as a significant mediator of the relationship.
本研究旨在探讨专业学习共同体(Professional Learning Communities)在增强马来西亚雪兰莪州公立小学教师集体教师效能感中的作用。为此,本研究采用整群随机抽样方法开展数据采集工作,通过以下三种研究工具从307名教师处收集得到相关数据:修订版专业学习共同体评估量表(Professional Learning Communities Assessment - Revised)、集体教师信念量表(Collective Teacher Belief Scale)以及综合T量表(教职工同事信任维度)。上述研究工具同时提供马来语与英语版本,用于数据采集环节。本研究采用统计软件SmartPLS4完成数据分析。研究结果证实,专业学习共同体与集体教师效能感之间存在显著正向的直接关联。此外,教师对同事的信任在二者的关系中发挥了显著的中介作用。
