The European fire-bellied toad (Bombina bombina) is a species of fire-bellied toad native to eastern parts of mainland Europe, where it can be found near waterbodies such as ponds and marshes (Wikipedia entry). This genome is from a male collected in Ksiaz Wielki, Poland, by the Departments of Natural Resources (exact location not known), procured by Jacek Szymura of Jagiellonian University, Faculty of Biology, Institute of Zoology and Biomedical Research in Krakow, and used to generate a high-quality reference for the Vertebrate Genomes Project (VGP). Sequencing and genome assembly were conducted at the Max Planck, Dresden Genome Center, led by Gene Myers and Sylke Winkler.

欧洲铃蟾（Bombina bombina）是铃蟾属的一个物种，原生分布于欧洲大陆东部区域，常栖息于池塘、沼泽等水体周边（引自维基百科条目）。本次使用的基因组样本来自一只雄性欧洲铃蟾，该个体采集自波兰Ksiaz Wielki，采集工作由自然资源部门完成（具体采集点位未公开），由克拉科夫雅盖隆大学生物学院动物学与生物医学研究所的雅采克·希穆拉（Jacek Szymura）负责获取，并用于构建脊椎动物基因组计划（Vertebrate Genomes Project, VGP）的高质量参考基因组。基因组测序与组装工作由吉恩·迈尔斯（Gene Myers）与西尔克·温克勒（Sylke Winkler）主导，在德累斯顿马克斯·普朗克基因组中心完成。
