Organic matter characterisation of the bottom waters of Whittard Canyon.

Suspended organic matter in the water column, within ∼10 m of the canyon floor, was sampled with a Stand-Alone Pump (SAP), deployed at the CTD stations. POC: particulate organic carbon; TOC: total organic carbon;*stations/sites in the vicinity of cold-water coral communities.

科研人员采用部署于温盐深（CTD, Conductivity, Temperature, Depth）测站的自主式采样泵（SAP, Stand-Alone Pump），对距海底峡谷底面约10米范围内水柱中的悬浮有机质进行了采样。POC：颗粒有机碳（Particulate Organic Carbon）；TOC：总有机碳（Total Organic Carbon）；* 冷水珊瑚群落周边的测站/采样点。
