This dataset consists of surface air temperature from the global reanalysis dataset released by ECMWF covering the period 1979 to 2016. It is generated by ECMWF's Numerical Weather Prediction system (IFS-Cy31r2), which assimilates operational observation data, satellite data, and radiosonde data used by ECMWF and covers the entire globe. The system has a spectral resolution of T255. This dataset has a temporal resolution of 6 hours and a spatial resolution of 0.75°, with 241 grid points in the zonal direction and 480 grid points in the meridional direction. Each file contains one month of data in NetCDF format, and variables are of short integer type.
