Wind wave spectra data from moored current meter and bottle casts in the Gulf of Mexico as part of the Brine Disposal project, 01 July 1980 - 01 August 1980 (NODC Accession 8000496)

Wind wave spectra data were collected using moored current meter and moored buoy casts in the Gulf of Mexico from July 1, 1980 to August 1, 1980. Data were submitted by National Data Buoy Center (NDBC) as part of the Brine Disposal project. Data were processed by NODC to the NODC standard Wind Wave Spectra Data (F191) format. The F191 format is used to report meteorological data and ocean wave spectra data from NDBC. The format contains seven data record types to: 1) Identify the buoy for position, duration, rate of sampling and heading. 2) Identify the meteorological parameters (temperature, pressure, weather, solar radiation, and surface waves). 3) Report time series frequency, density and resolution of waves. Each record is 120 characters in length, sorted by station and record type. The first nine columns for all records are to be used for file type (columns 1-3) and file identifier (column 4-9). The file identifier, to be assigned by the originator, is an unique originator id for each data submission. After submission, the NODC reassigns to this field an unique NODC identifier for internal use.

F191格式用于报送来自NDBC的气象数据与海浪谱数据，共包含7类数据记录：1） 标识浮标相关信息，包括站位、观测时长、采样速率与航向；2） 标识气象参数类别，涵盖气温、气压、天气状况、太阳辐射与表层海浪参数；3） 报送海浪的时间序列频率、密度与分辨率信息。所有记录长度均为120字符，按测站与记录类型排序。所有记录的前9列分别用于文件类型（第1至3列）与文件标识符（第4至9列）。文件标识符由数据提交方指定，为每次数据提交分配唯一的提交方标识；数据提交后，NODC将为该字段重新分配供内部使用的唯一NODC标识符。
