A speedtest of NBN speeds was run across a weekend, every two hours, from Friday 8.00pm to Monday 8.00am. NBN was running in Hughesdale, 3166 Victoria over Telecube HFC 50/20mbps NBN subscription. The NBN is the Australian National Broadband Network. HFC is the payTV network (a hybrid fibre-coaxial network) and is currently sold at speeds up to 100/40 mbps (download/upload). The test is run on a residential premise with a 50/20mbps subscription with Telecube. Where mbps is megabits per second, and 50/20 is 50mbps download and 20mbps upload.<br>Now includes updated to NBN HFC 100/40 last week. Rerun test. Friday 8.00pm to Monday 8.00am (18-20 May 2018). 本次实验对NBN(澳大利亚国家宽带网络,Australian National Broadband Network)的网速开展了周末周期性测速,采样周期为每两小时一次,测试时段为周五晚8时至次周一早8时。测试地点位于维多利亚州休斯代尔(Hughesdale)3166邮编区域,用户订阅的是Telecube HFC 50/20Mbps套餐。其中HFC即混合光纤同轴网络(hybrid fibre-coaxial network),是当前可售速率最高可达100/40Mbps(下行/上行)的有线电视网络。本次测试的住宅用户订阅的是Telecube 50/20Mbps套餐,Mbps即兆比特每秒,50/20代表下行速率50Mbps、上行速率20Mbps。 本次测试已于近期升级至NBN HFC 100/40套餐,并于2018年5月18日至20日(周五晚8时至周一早8时)重新执行,测试流程与此前一致。 Speedtest是一款用于检测互联网连接速率的网络服务,其HTML5版本可通过地址http://beta.speedtest.net访问。 本次测速使用的服务器为2225 Telstra Melbourne。可通过执行`speedtest-cli --list`命令获取可用服务器列表。建议仅针对单台服务器执行测速,以消除服务器端速率波动对测试结果的影响;关于服务器波动对测速结果的影响,可参考链接http://whrl.pl/ReX2rn。 版本5:新增了100/40升级套餐的相关测试数据。新增数据文件data200518new.csv,新增可视化图表:Plotly平台的/50对应图表,以及JPEG格式图表Plot200518.4。此外还补充了2017年8月28日起的每15分钟间隔采样数据,对应数据文件为data280817.csv,新增可视化图表Plotly平台的/48对应图表,以及JPEG格式图表Plot280817.3。 新增play2.csv:该文件为已整理的数据集,包含解析后的日期与时间字段,其中DayHr = Day.Hr,DayHr2 = Day.Hr×4(即近似每分钟采样)。out.csv已删除测试数据:v1版本的out.csv包含12条来自莫纳什大学校园局域网的测试数据(速率为200/100Mbps),该部分数据已在v2版本中移除。 本次测试记录以下指标:上行速率(Mbps)、下行速率(Mbps)与延迟(毫秒),并将结果输出至CSV(逗号分隔值)文件。 测速脚本基于Python控制的speedtest实现,源码托管于Github:https://github.com/sivel/speedtest-cli(详见下文链接)。使用Bash脚本执行speedtest(附Bash脚本文件),通过Cron定时任务调度脚本自动运行,并将测试数据写入out.csv文件。相关进阶文档已包含在Bash脚本job.sh中。本项目灵感源自论坛帖子https://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=52732。 Cron定时任务配置:5 */2 * * * cd ~/Downloads/speed/ && ./job.sh,即每小时的第5分钟执行脚本,每两小时运行一次测速。 测试环境:2012款MacBook Pro,macOS 10.12.6系统,Python 2.7.10。 已绘制的数据图表及原始数据集可在Plotly平台访问:https://plot.ly/~areff20000/46/(详见下文链接)。
