Section 190 of the Local Government Act 1946 allowed councils to appoint 'occasional or standing committees' for the purpose of administering some of the areas of municipal operations. This same piece of legislation called for every such committee to report their activities periodically to their councils.This series consists of notices of agenda which appear to have been created for circulation amongst committee members prior to the committee meetings. Committee members were councillors. The photocopied contents of the volumes in this series are bound and stamped.Appointed by the Council of the City of Nunawading, the committees incorporated into this series included the following:Council CommitteeFinance CommitteeSpecial Finance CommitteeProperties and Administration CommitteeStanding CommitteeBy-Laws CommitteeLibrary CommitteePublic Relations/By-Laws CommitteeHealth and Social Welfare CommitteeBuildings and Works CommitteeStreet Construction Schemes CommitteeWorks CommitteeGeneral Purposes CommitteeSub-divisions CommitteeParks, Gardens and Council Properties Committee.
