Pseudomonas and Staphylococcus bacterial and bacteriophage genome assemblies propagated in animal-derived and animal-free formulations

This dataset contains bacteriophage and bacterial genome assemblies generated for the study, “Animal-free peptones support bacteriophage propagation for therapeutic use without altering bactericidal activity or genomic integrity.” DOI: https://doi.org/10.1093/jambio/lxag174 The dataset includes Oxford Nanopore-generated genome assemblies for 18 bacteriophages: 8 Pseudomonas (ACH8, CEIU, FJBP, K1O0, KMBS, N0M1, NYK5 & ZLWE) bacteriophages propagated in animal-derived Luria–Bertani (LB) media and the same phages propagated under animal-free (AF) conditions, as well as 1 Staphylococcus (WY3Z) bacteriophage from each condition. The dataset also includes 24 bacterial genome assemblies, comprising of 10 Pseudomonas (M1C014, M1C034, M1C037, M1C054, M1C066, M1C077, M1C090, M1C093 & M1C141) and 2 Staphylococcus (SA01 & SA09) isolates grown in animal-derived Luria–Bertani (LB) media, and the same isolates grown under animal-free (AF) conditions.
