Collection of 86 clinical strains of S. Enteritidis, isolated from two genetically and physiologically different hosts, a mammal (human) and a bird (chicken). The human isolates represent a sub collection of gastrointestinal (n=23) and invasive (n=23) strains collected over fourteen years (from 2003 to 2016) from the state of Minnesota, while avian (40) isolates were implicated in primary infections of the avian hosts and they were collected from thirteen states of the US during 2014-2016.
