Lipoma of the oral cavity with an unusual clinical description: Clinical case presentation and literature review

Lipoma is a benign tumor of fat cells that is very rare in the oral region; however, when this area is affected, it has a predilection for the tongue and floor of the mouth. They are characterized by being rounded, variable in size, yellowish in color and soft to palpation. The treatment is surgical and the microscopic study is characterized by mature adipocytes, surrounded by blood vessels and collagen fibers. Below, we present a case of Lipoma in the oral cavity with an unusual clinical presentation.

脂肪瘤（Lipoma）是一种由脂肪细胞构成的良性肿瘤，在口腔区域极为罕见；但若口腔受累，则好发于舌及口底。该类肿瘤呈圆形，大小不一，颜色淡黄，触诊质地柔软。治疗方式为外科手术，镜下病理特征为成熟脂肪细胞被血管与胶原纤维包裹。下文将报告1例临床表现不典型的口腔脂肪瘤病例。
