Microbial landscape on multiple human body regions

To comprehensively understand the potential implication of microbiota on human health and disease, we investigated the complete microbial biogeography across multiple human regions including skin and several gastrointestinal organs simultaneously. Mucosal and luminal/swab samples from distinct sites (N=53) spanning the human body were surveyed using16S rRNA V3-V4 amplicon as well as full-length (V1-V9) PacBio sequencing for bacterial profiling. The study will provide a systematic insight into understanding the relationship between microbial community across different body regions and their potential application in clinical management.

为全面解析微生物群（microbiota）对人类健康与疾病的潜在影响，本研究同时针对包含皮肤在内的多个人体区域及多个胃肠道器官开展了完整的微生物生物地理学调查。本研究针对覆盖全身的不同采集位点（共计53份）的黏膜、管腔/拭子样本，采用16S rRNA V3-V4扩增子测序与全长（V1-V9）PacBio测序进行细菌群落谱分析。本研究将为解析不同人体区域微生物群落间的关联及其在临床管理中的潜在应用价值提供系统性认知。
