A school as a creative incubator: facilitating storytelling through creating an expanded and safer school typology

Datasets consist of the following: 1. Presentation The presentation forms a summary of the study. It also includes technical and design drawings of the existing buildings at Tsako Thabo Secondary School as well as design and technical drawings of the proposed design. 2. Accommodation list This dataset forms part of the design investigation. It is an excel spreadsheet including the spatial planning of the design in order to insure that all requirements are met according to the regulations of South African National Standards (SANS) as well as the regulations and guidelines set out by the Department of Education. 3. Material Matrix This material matrix forms part of the technical investigation which can be found in part 3 of the dissertation. Materials are investigated to find the most appropriate materials in order to allow for an innovative design response to allow adolescents to take agency.
