This dataset contains sky view factors for 5-meter grid cells covering the contiguous United States. 30-meter aggregates aligned to the Landsat ARD tile grid are also available. The digital elevation model (DEM) was obtained by combining a rasterized dump of the Overture Maps buildings data set from July 2025 with the 1-arc-second USGS 3DEP. Horizon angles every 30 degrees from North (12 different search directions in total) were then calculated from this DEM using the r.horizon GRASS module, parameterized with a 1-kilometer maximum search distance. These horizon angles were then combined to calculate sky view factors Tiles and the coordinate reference system are derived from the Landsat ARD tile grid.
