Data on soil temperature and soil moisture at five layers were collected from the Xixi Wetland Farm, and the soil temperature-humidity index (THI) of each layer was analyzed. This enables comprehensive understanding of soil properties, quality, contamination status and environmental characteristics, providing scientific basis for soil management, agricultural production and environmental protection, and contributing to the realization of sustainable agriculture and the protection and improvement of the ecological environment. By collecting soil temperature and soil moisture data from the five layers of the Xixi Wetland Farm, the soil temperature-humidity index (THI) for each soil layer can be calculated using the aforementioned data, with the formula as follows: THI = 0.8 × Temperature + Relative Humidity × (Temperature - 14.4) + 46.4. THI[1], THI[2], THI[3], THI[4] and THI[5] respectively represent the temperature-humidity indices of (1) surface soil (0-20 cm), (2) subsurface soil (20-40 cm), (3) middle-layer soil (40-60 cm), (4) lower-layer soil (60-80 cm) and (5) bottom-layer soil (below 80 cm). THI is an important indicator describing the temperature and moisture status in soil, providing critical reference data for fields such as agricultural production, plant growth monitoring and disaster early warning. The five-layer soil testing conducts multi-level and comprehensive analysis and evaluation of soil, while five-layer THI monitoring allows comprehensive understanding of soil properties, quality, contamination status and environmental characteristics, providing scientific basis for soil management, agricultural production and environmental protection, and contributing to the realization of sustainable agriculture and the protection and improvement of the ecological environment.
