该系统是一个汉字人机对话系统， 用FOR- TRAN语言写成， 可在NORD、FELIX和IBM微机上运行。除具一般图象处理系统的数据读入、预处理、影像增强、影像分类、后处理等功能外， 还适应森林等再生资源调查的需要。该系统在边界决策、训练样地处理、分类、生物量估测、资源变化监测、大比例尺专题图编制等方面发展了新技术。其图象处理软件， 在资源调查实用化方面处于国内领先水平。

This system is a Chinese-character-based human-computer interactive system implemented in Fortran, which supports operation on NORD, FELIX and IBM microcomputers. In addition to the standard functions of general image processing systems including data input, preprocessing, image enhancement, image classification and post-processing, it also meets the requirements of renewable resource surveys such as forestry investigations. The system has developed novel technologies in multiple aspects including boundary decision-making, training plot processing, classification, biomass estimation, resource change monitoring and large-scale thematic map compilation. Its image processing software holds a domestically leading position in the practical application of resource surveys.
