Total RNA was extracted from 1 g of bone tissue samples collected from the control group and the 20 mg/L polystyrene microplastics exposure group on day 28. The concentration and purity of the extracted RNA samples were determined using a NanoDrop 2000, and their integrity was assessed by agarose gel electrophoresis. The RNA quality was measured using an Agilent 5300 platform (RQN). Gene differential expression analysis was performed between the zebrafish control group and the 20 mg/L polystyrene microplastics exposure group to identify differentially expressed genes, which were annotated using the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) database and the Gene Ontology (GO) database .
