The formation of biofilm on pipe wall is a common concern in distribution system, which spurred researchers to develop more effective scheme for water disinfection. In the present study, a strategy to synthesize the silver-loaded stainless steel (SS-Ag) as an antibacterial material was proposed. The antibacterial efficiency of SS-Ag in a long-term period and its effect on the microbial community of biofilm were investigated at lab-scale. This work provides a new method for controlling biofilm fouling to ensure the biosafety of water distribution system.
管壁生物膜的形成是供水配水系统中普遍关注的问题,这促使研究人员研发更为高效的水消毒方案。本研究提出了一种合成载银不锈钢(silver-loaded stainless steel, SS-Ag)抗菌材料的策略。在实验室规模下,考察了SS-Ag的长期抗菌性能及其对生物膜微生物群落的影响。本研究为控制生物膜污染、保障供水配水系统的生物安全提供了新方法。
