The chemical and isotopic compositions of methane hydrates from the Dongsha Sea Area, northern South China Sea

Eight methane hydrate samples for analysis of gas compositions, bulk stable isotopes and methane clumped isotope are collected from the Site GMGS2-08 during the second Gas Hydrate Drilling Expedition of Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey (GMGS2), Dongsha Sea area of northern South China Sea. Abundances of singly and doubly-substituted isotopologues of methane (13CH4, 12CH3D, 13CH3D, and 12CH2D2) are measured on a Panorama (Pan004), an ultra–high–resolution gas–source multiple collector Mass Spectrometer at Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry (GIG).

本次研究从南海北部东沙海域广州海洋地质调查局第二次天然气水合物钻探航次（GMGS2）的GMGS2-08站位采集了8件甲烷水合物（methane hydrate）样品，用于开展气体成分、整体稳定同位素及甲烷团簇同位素（methane clumped isotope）分析。研究中，在广州地球化学研究所（Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry，GIG）的Panorama（Pan004）超高分辨率气体源多接收器质谱仪上，测定了甲烷单取代与双取代同位素异构体的丰度，待测同位素异构体包括13CH4、12CH3D、13CH3D及12CH2D2。
