The Global Microbial Marker Gene (GMMG) database is a comprehensive information repository of microbial marker gene sequences that has undergone rigorous quality control screening. Currently, it provides all publicly available high-quality 16S rRNA gene sequences for Bacteria and Archaea, together with detailed metadata and sequence similarity thresholds for each species and other taxonomic units. This database offers essential reference data required for analytical applications across multiple fields including taxonomy, amplicon analysis, and metagenomic analysis.
