This dataset accompanies the study **“Variations in environmental conditions and biodiversity between contrasting intertidal habitats at multiple spatial scales across European rocky shores.”** Intertidal rocky shores experience strong environmental variability, and habitat-forming canopy algae can modulate local microclimate and light exposure, potentially altering community structure and biodiversity. The files documented below integrate daily aggregated environmental measurements (**temperature** and **light intensity**) with biodiversity metrics (**alpha diversity** and **beta dispersion**) across multiple spatial scales (plot, area, and site) in two European regions (NE Atlantic and Western Mediterranean). Resampling procedures (bootstrap/permutation) are included to estimate region-scale effects and generate null expectations for habitat differences.
