Insect herbivory accounts for 15 to 20 percent of annual crop losses globally. Circadianclock impacts the transcriptome plant during their development and in response to abiotic and biotic stresses. To elucidate the impact of circadian clock in the activation of plant defense mechanisms in response to insect infestation, we propose to characterize the transcriptome of sorghum leaves infested with sugarcane aphids (SCA), a phloem sap-sucking insect.
