HGIS de las Indias (lugares)

The lugares (settlements) in the Historical-Geographic Information System (HGIS) of the Indies (1701-1808), a project of the University of Graz, funded with the support of the Fund for Scientific Investigations of the Republic of Austria (FWF) between 2015 and 2017. The general purpose of HGIS de las Indias is to create a visualization of the historical geography for the Bourbon Spanish America through time, to create a solid systematics of the administrative-territorial structure as an interface for associated projects, as well as to promote geographic methods and digital tools in Hispano-Americanist historiography.

本数据集为格拉茨大学（University of Graz）主持的西印度群岛历史地理信息系统（Historical-Geographic Information System of the Indies，缩写HGIS）中收录1701至1808年定居点（lugares，settlements）的数据集，该项目于2015至2017年间获得奥地利共和国科学研究基金（FWF）资助。该系统的总体目标为：一是可视化呈现波旁王朝治下西班牙美洲历史地理的时空变迁历程；二是构建行政-领土结构的严谨分类体系，以此作为关联研究项目的交互接口；三是推动地理研究方法与数字化工具在西班牙美洲史研究领域的应用。
