Data for: Breastfeeding in Women with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus

There are well-recognised maternal and infant benefits conferred by breastfeeding. Type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) is an important endocrinopathy affecting women of childbearing age. However, little information exists regarding the impact of breastfeeding on glycaemic control in women with T1DM and the impact of T1DM on lactation. Further, it is unclear if suckling induces acute changes in maternal glycaemia. This review explores the process of lactogenesis in women with T1DM, the impact of lactogenesis on maternal insulin requirements and the potential mechanisms and changes of suckling on maternal glucose levels.

母乳喂养可为孕产妇与婴幼儿带来已被广泛认可的健康获益。1型糖尿病（Type 1 diabetes mellitus，T1DM）是一类影响育龄女性的重要内分泌疾病。然而，目前关于母乳喂养对1型糖尿病患者血糖控制的影响，以及1型糖尿病对泌乳的影响，相关研究资料仍较为匮乏。此外，目前尚不清楚吸吮行为是否会引发孕产妇血糖的急性变化。本综述旨在探讨1型糖尿病女性的泌乳过程、泌乳对孕产妇胰岛素需求量的影响，以及吸吮行为影响孕产妇血糖水平的潜在机制与相关变化。
