Site Images and GIS Data from an Archaeological Evaluation at Rushbrooks Nursery, The Street, Monks Eleigh, Suffolk, 2021

This collection consists of site images and GIS data from an archaeological evaluation at Rushbrooks Nursery Site, The Street, Monks Eleigh, Suffolk. Works were conducted by Cotswold Archaeology in March 2021. Six similarly aligned ditches were recorded in the base of the trenches which probably represent elements of a field system or property boundaries associated with medieval roadside occupation. Large assemblages of pottery were recovered from ditches in Trench 2 and the single ditch in Trench 1. The size and quantity of this material, from two concentrated areas, is indicative of occupation of high medieval date on the site and may suggest continuous occupation from the early medieval period but not extending beyond the 14th century.
