Psoriasis is an inflammatory skin disease with an undefined etiology that affects approximately 2% of the world’s population. The goals of this study were to evaluate the role of the microbiota in the development and exacerbation of psoriasiform dermatitis induced by Imiquimod in a mouse model. Results suggest that antibiotic-induced dysbiosis in the skin and gut microbiomes of adult mice was associated with increased susceptibility to experimental psoriasis.
