Lignin is one of the most abundant components of lignocellulosic biomass, representing 10-35% of its mass, and 40% of its energy. It is a widely available, renewable, and inexpensive resource which can be upgraded into useful fuels and chemicals. However, lignin is an aromatic three-dimensional polymer, with a high number of C-O linkages, which limits its transformation through conventional catalysts. Zeolitic cayalysts however are very promising within this area. We propose to study the diffusion dynamics of cresol within a series of zeolites in order to understand the role of diffusion limiting processes within zeolitic cayalysts.
木质素是木质纤维素生物质中含量最丰富的组分之一,占其质量的10-35%及能量的40%。它是一种来源广泛、可再生且成本低廉的资源,可被转化为有用的燃料和化学品。然而,木质素作为芳香族三维聚合物,含有大量C-O键,这限制了其通过传统催化剂的转化。不过,沸石催化剂在该领域极具前景。我们拟研究甲酚在一系列沸石中的扩散动力学,以理解扩散限制过程在沸石催化剂中的作用。
