Analysis of weevil (Gonipterus) egg capsules

In the weevil genus Gonipterus, their dark, hardened egg capsule is possibly generated by a mixture of the insects excrement and glandular substances. To test this hypothesis, this study focused on the elucidation of protein components present in the egg capsule cover and interrogated them through comparative analysis and gene expression to help infer potential functions.

在象鼻虫属（Gonipterus）中，其深色坚硬的卵囊（egg capsule）可能由昆虫排泄物与腺状分泌物混合形成。为验证这一假说，本研究聚焦于卵囊外壳（egg capsule cover）中蛋白质组分的解析，并通过比较分析与基因表达实验对其进行探究，以辅助推断其潜在功能。
