Re-writing the machinic anthropocene - Initial Research

'Re-writing the machinic anthropocene' investigates how speculative fictional methods in creative practice could be used to expose and rewrite the relations between digital technologies and the anthropocene, and also how these methods could bring into view nonhuman voices and perspectives.<br>This item contains initial research explorations for the project. <br>The fictional approach was made operational via the construction of a fictive research space and set of research personas, positioned below an e-waste site. From here a mapping process traced the technical hyperobject of a smartphone, including the sourcing of raw materials, the production of new forms of waste and the impacts on human and nonhuman. This map was developed into The Signal and the Rock: Proposal for a film (2014-18), an iterative multimedia lecture that exposes and rewrites the technical hyperobject of a smartphone.<br>

该虚构研究路径通过搭建一处位于电子垃圾场下方的虚构研究空间与系列研究角色，得以落地实施。借此，制图流程得以追踪智能手机这一技术超客体（technical hyperobject），涵盖其原材料溯源、新型废弃物形态的产生，以及对人类与非人类主体的影响。该制图内容最终发展为《信号与岩石：电影提案（2014-2018）》——一部旨在揭示并重写智能手机这一技术超客体的迭代式多媒体讲座作品。
