Hourly uncalibrated xylem volumetric water content (VWC), uncalibrated period average, and calibrated xylem VWC data measured at various heights and depth in four trees each of southern red oak (<i>Quercus falcata</i>) and loblolly pine (<i>Pinus taeda</i>) at Schenck Memorial Forest (35° 49' 1.6”N, 78° 43' 35”W) in Raleigh, North Carolina from June 14th, 2021 at 18:00 to August 9th, 2021 at 17:00. VWC was measured using time-domain reflectometry soil moisture sensors (CS616 and CS655; Campbell Scientific Inc., Logan, UT) on a data logger (CR1000; Campbell Scientific Inc., Logan, UT) with a multiplexer (AM16/32; Campbell Scientific Inc., Logan, UT). Metadata file that contains column descriptions is included.
