Mixed ligand complexes of Fe(III) of the type and [Fe(bzac) L], where bzac isbenzoylacetone and HL is substituted salicylaldehyde, â-Diketones or hydroxylarylketones have been synthesized by the condensation reactions of Iron (III) chloride witha mixture of two different ligands in 1:2:1 molar ratios. The solid complexes wereseparated, filtered, washed with ethanol and ether successively and dried under reducedpressure. The resulting complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, molarconductances, magnetic moments, electronic spectra, IR spectra and FAB mass spectraanalysis. At the same time, above mentioned complexes were studied for in vitroantimicrobial properties and found to be more potent bactericides than parent ligands.Octahedral geometry has been proposed for the mixed ligand complexes
已成功合成通式为[Fe(bzac)L]的三价铁(Fe(III))混合配体配合物:该反应以三氯化铁与两种不同配体按1:2:1的摩尔比混合,通过缩合反应制备得到,其中bzac为苯甲酰丙酮(benzoylacetone),HL为取代水杨醛、β-二酮或羟基芳基酮。将所得固体配合物分离、过滤,依次用乙醇和乙醚洗涤后,于减压条件下干燥。通过元素分析、摩尔电导率、磁矩、电子光谱、红外光谱(IR)以及快原子轰击质谱(FAB-MS)对上述配合物进行了表征。同时,对该类配合物的体外抗菌性能开展研究,结果显示其杀菌活性优于相应的母体配体。研究人员推测该类混合配体配合物具有八面体配位构型。
