Trypanosome flagellar proteome

This study investigates the proteome of the flagellum of the parasite Trypanosoma brucei. This parasite is the causative agent in African trypanosomiasis. This structure contains a 9 + 2 axoneme structure, highly conserved throughout eukaryotic evolution. The kinetoplastid flagellum additionally has a trypanasome-specific structure, the paraflagellar rod. Here, we have performed analyses based upon 1D- and 2D-gel separation followed by LC-MS/MS identification of peptides associated with flagellar proteins.

本研究针对布氏锥虫（Trypanosoma brucei）鞭毛的蛋白质组展开系统性探究。该寄生虫为非洲锥虫病的致病原。其鞭毛包含在真核生物进化过程中高度保守的9+2型轴丝（axoneme）结构。动基体目鞭毛额外拥有锥虫特异性结构——副鞭毛杆（paraflagellar rod）。本研究通过一维凝胶电泳与二维凝胶电泳分离样品，随后采用液相色谱-串联质谱（LC-MS/MS）对与鞭毛蛋白相关联的肽段进行鉴定分析。
