Indian Transport Emission Gridded Dataset

This dataset presents a comprehensive high-resolution (10 km × 10 km) gridded emission inventory for India’s transport sector. It includes more than ten vehicle categories 2 wheelers, 3 wheelers, cars, buses, light commercial vehicles (LCV), heavy commercial vehicles (HCV), and miscellaneous vehicles (MSLV) operating on petrol, diesel, and CNG fuels. Emissions are estimated for nine major pollutants: CO, NOx, VOC, SO₂, CO₂, PM₂.₅, PM₁₀, BC, and OC, covering the entire Indian subcontinent for the year 2025. The dataset has been developed by incorporating recent policy interventions such as the inclusion of both registered and unregistered electric vehicles, vehicle scrappage initiatives, and updated emission factors. This comprehensive and policy-relevant dataset provides a robust basis for air quality modeling, trend assessment, and scenario-based emission mitigation analysis, supporting researchers and policymakers in designing sustainable transport and climate action strategies for India.
