This paper presents hydrological station data from 152 forest catchments in Japan, which covers multiple key hydrological and environmental parameters. Dataset 1 records in detail the geographic location, area, elevation, average slope, geological structure, and vegetation cover of these forest catchments, as well as basic information including annual precipitation, annual runoff, and annual average temperature obtained through long-term observations. In addition, evapotranspiration and inter-catchment groundwater flow have also been calculated; these data are of great significance for understanding the hydrological cycle processes of the catchments. The observational data are mainly sourced from published articles or reports, while grid-based precipitation and temperature data with a 1 km grid resolution, provided by the National Agriculture and Food Research Organization, are also adopted, which ensures the accuracy and reliability of the dataset.
