Study 3 examines whether providing participants with precautionary information improves their ability to distinguish between authentic and fraudulent event tickets. Prior research shows that educational interventions can reduce susceptibility to fraud across domains such as phishing, telemarketing, and investment scams; however, similar interventions have not been tested in the context of ticket fraud. In this study, participants were randomly assigned to one of three conditions: a control group that completed the task as in Study 1, an intervention group that received information on how to identify fraudulent tickets before performing the discrimination task, and a second intervention group that received the same information along with the opportunity to review and revise each purchasing decision. All participants completed the same ticket discrimination task following their assigned instructions. The dataset includes demographic information, condition assignments, instructional materials for both interventions, and all responses collected as part of the study, corresponding to the hypotheses outlined in the accompanying manuscript.
