The data set was developed to communicate to the public and other entities 1) areas that need to be protected or conserved to maintain viable healthy populations of terrestrial and aquatic wildlife for the present and future, 2) areas where there is a high potential in the 5 years after the Statewide Habitat Plan is published to successfully address wildlife habitat issues by improving, enhancing, or restoring wildlife habitats, and 3) migration corridors and fish passages that need to be protected or enhanced to maintain or improve connectivity.

本数据集旨在面向公众及其他相关主体传达以下三类信息：1）为维持当前及未来陆生与水生野生动物的可持续健康种群，需予以保护或保育的区域；2）在全州栖息地计划发布后的5年内，通过改善、优化或修复野生动物栖息地以有效解决野生动物栖息地问题的高潜力区域；3）需加以保护或升级以维持或提升连通性的迁徙廊道与鱼类洄游通道。
