Fungal communities in hardwood trees selected by black-capped chickadees

Study goals were to describe the communities of fungi in nest trees selected by black-capped chickadees and compare them to communities in non-selected control trees. Testing the hypothesis that chickadee nest trees are associated with distinct fungal communities that aid in the excavation of nest cavities.
