Post-operative delirium (POD) is a serious complication which occurs after surgery, especially in the elderly undergoing total hip replacement surgery. Gut microbiota has been recognized to infuence brain function and behaviors. Recent studies hava indicated that gut microbiota may affect postoprerative congnitive function involving the “microbiota-brain-gut”axis. We aimed to investigate changes in the gut microbiota and the association between the gut microbita and delirium after total hip replacement surgery.

术后谵妄（Post-operative delirium, POD）是一类发生于外科手术后的严重并发症，尤其多见于接受全髋关节置换术（total hip replacement surgery）的老年患者。肠道菌群（gut microbiota）现已被证实可影响大脑功能与行为表现。近期研究表明，肠道菌群或通过“菌群-肠-脑轴（microbiota-brain-gut axis）”对术后认知功能产生影响。本研究旨在探究全髋关节置换术后肠道菌群的变化情况，以及肠道菌群与术后谵妄之间的关联。
