Dataset for a Scoping Review on AI-Supported Feedback in Higher Education (2010–2025)

This dataset supports a scoping review investigating the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to support feedback processes in higher education. It includes bibliographic metadata, methodological characteristics, and analytical coding for 63 empirical studies published between 2010 and 2025. The dataset was developed following a systematic screening process based on the PRISMA framework and analysed using a structured codebook. Variables cover study design, educational context, AI typologies and functions, characteristics of AI-generated feedback, pedagogical integration, human-in-the-loop configurations, reported impacts, ethical issues, limitations, and future research directions. The dataset is intended to support transparency, replicability, and secondary analyses in research on AI-supported assessment and feedback practices in higher education.
