Amplicon sequences from GEOTRACES cruise GA03 generated with 515Y/926R primers (Parada et al., 2016) with the same DNA used to produce metagenomes described by Biller et al 2018 (see link to paper for more information and accessions for corresponding metagenomes). Note that these samples come from unfractionated seawater (>0.2uM) and thus are "whole-seawater" samples. In addition, the primers used target both 16S and 18S, and thus require a specialized protocol to separate 16S sequences (which overlap) and 18S sequences (which do not). A suggested workflow is provided in the github link below. Data processed with DADA2 into amplicon sequence variants will be available on the Simons Collaborative Marine Atlas Project (CMAP) at a later date.
