To elucidate physiological and genetic changes required for the migration loss of diadromous fish, we focused on three congeneric amphidromous (a type of diadromous) species (Gymnogobius: Gobiidae) with different dependency on freshwater habitats. This study compared larval whole-body transcriptome when the larvae were reared under fresh- and seawater conditions among those species.
