Southern ACT Catchment - Upper Murrumbidgee Waterwatch

Upper Murrumbidgee Waterwatch 1. Engages the community in the environment through monitoring and caring for our catchments; 2. Educates and raises awareness in schools and the community on issues concerning catchment health; and 3. Uses data collected by volunteers to inform policy and on ground catchment management. Upper Murrumbidgee Waterwatch is looking for volunteers to help us on our Autumn Bug Blitz. Macro-invertebrates (water bugs) are an excellent indicator of stream health & we need to get an adequate set of data from across the region to feed into our Catchment Health Indicator Program.

Upper Murrumbidgee Waterwatch的核心工作包括三方面：1. 通过集水区监测与守护，推动社区参与环境事务；2. 在学校及社区开展集水区健康相关议题的教育与意识提升活动；3. 利用志愿者收集的数据，为集水区管理政策及实地工作提供决策依据。该组织现招募志愿者参与秋季昆虫突击行动（Autumn Bug Blitz）。大型无脊椎动物（Macro-invertebrates，即水生昆虫）是溪流健康状况的优质指示生物，我们需从全区范围内收集充足数据，以支撑集水区健康指标项目的开展。
