This dataset includes two parts of statistical records. The first part covers the completed afforestation area of key forestry projects in China from 1979 to 2008, extracted from the appendix of the 2009 China Forestry Development Report. The recorded indicators include: year, total, Natural Forest Protection Project, Grain for Green Project, converted cropland afforestation, Beijing-Tianjin Sandstorm Source Control Project, key shelterbelt system construction projects including the Three-North and Yangtze River Basin shelterbelts, Three-North Shelterbelt System Construction Project, Upper and Middle Reaches of the Yangtze River Shelterbelt System Construction Project, Coastal Shelterbelt System Construction Project, Pearl River Basin Shelterbelt System Construction Project, Taihang Mountain Afforestation Project, Plain Afforestation Project, and Fast-growing and High-yield Timber Forest Base Construction Project. The second part contains 2006 annual statistical data on the development of China's forestry industry, covering aspects such as forestry production, afforestation, forest products, forest pest control, key project investment and forest resource status. The specific contents are as follows: import and export values of major forest products from 1993 to 2001, import and export quantities of major forest products from 1993 to 2001, afforestation area categorized by region, afforestation method and forest category in 2001, total output value of forestry industry in each region in 2001, actual completed investment of key forestry projects in each region in 2001, completed afforestation area of key forestry projects in each region in 2001, and forest pest, rodent and disease control status in each region in 2001.
