Improving Wetland Habitat for Mornington Peninsula's Threatened Species Project 1

This project will deliver significant environmental improvements and long-term benefits to Mornington Peninsula wetlands including Tootgarook Swamp and the Ramsar Westernport site which is of high community value. Creating strong partnerships with local friends groups and Indigenous communities will significantly improve the condition of threatened ecological communities and protect species and their habitats (Eastern Curlew). The team will also protect Indigenous cultural sites, by contributing to tasks such as developing an art and bushfood trail. Key strategies to managed threats include: enhancing community awareness, public access management and habitat protection.
