This dataset reports the volume, number, surface tension, interfacial tension, and adsorption coefficient for quartz sand aggregates in different hydrophobic liquids over time. Various hydrophobic liquids (decane, tetradecane, hexadecane, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, m-xylene, and 2-chlorotoluene) were added to either deionized or salt (34 ppt) water. Quartz sand was then added to the surface of these hydrophobic liquids in water. The quartz sand formed aggregates which were observed over the course of 10 days.
