A. fumigatus MpkC and SakA, homologues of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae Hog1, constitute the main regulator of the HOG ((High Osmolarity Glycerol)) pathway. The present study investigated the early transcriptional response of A. fumigatus to osmotic stress. We compared the A. fumigatus wild-type transcriptional response to osmotic stress with and ?mpkC, ?sakA, and ?mpkC ?sakA mutant strains.
