An XMM-Newton investigation of AGN feedback modes across cosmological time

We request a deep (250 ksec) XMMNewton observation of a field that benefitsfrom the deepest multifrequency radio observations currently possible to studythe AGN bright and radio feedback modes across cosmological times. The selectedfield also benefits from deep Spitzer, nearinfrared, and optical data andmoderate Xray data from Chandra. With the proposed observations we willdiscriminate between cold and hot gas accretors among radio and Xray selectedAGNs to constrain the evolution of the two AGN feedback processes. A series ofadditional topics will be also addressed: Xray variability vs radio, infrared,and optical spectral properties; the Xray properties of various extreme andrare sources; and we will search for heavily absorbed radioselected AGNs. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
