NON-FINITE FORMS OF THE VERB AS PRAGMATIC MARKERS IN TEXTUAL COMMUNICATION

The present article investigates the pragmatic peculiarities of non-finite forms of the verb in textual communication. Special attention is given to their role in expressing implicit meanings, structuring discourse, and ensuring cohesion. The study is based on examples drawn from English and Russian literary texts and employs a functional-pragmatic and discourse-analytic approach. The findings demonstrate that non-finite forms of the verb function as pragmatic markers that enable information compression, convey evaluative meanings, and guide interpretation. The study contributes to a more comprehensive understanding of the interaction between grammar and pragmatics.

本文考察了文本交际中动词非限定形式（non-finite forms of the verb）的语用特性，尤为关注其在表达隐含意义、构建语篇以及维系语篇衔接方面的作用。本研究的语料取自英语与俄语文学文本，采用功能语用与语篇分析的研究方法。研究结果表明，动词非限定形式可作为语用标记（pragmatic markers），实现信息压缩、传递评价性语义，并引导文本解读。本研究有助于更全面地认识语法与语用学之间的交互关联。
