The aim of this project is to study the genetic information of Paenibacillus sp. strain T2.5-46A isolated from the deep-subsurface of the Iberian Pyrite Belt (Huelva, Spain) in strict anaerobic conditions. It was isolated from a rock core obtained at 139.40 mbs (meters below surface), during the Iberian Pyrite Belt Subsurface Life Detection project (IPBSL). Then, it was isolated from a methanogenic enrichment culture in a H2:CO2 (80:20) atmosphere.

本项目旨在研究从伊比利亚黄铁矿带（Iberian Pyrite Belt，西班牙韦尔瓦）深部地下环境中、于严格厌氧条件下分离得到的类芽孢杆菌属（Paenibacillus sp.）菌株T2.5-46A的遗传信息。该菌株分离自伊比利亚黄铁矿带地下生命探测项目（IPBSL）中获取的、埋藏深度为139.40 mbs（地表下米数）的岩芯样品，后续又分离自氢气与二氧化碳体积比为80:20的气相环境下的产甲烷富集培养物中。
