Soil Physicochemical Properties and DBC/DOC Concentrations from a 2020–2021 Forest Sampling Campaign in China

This dataset presents results from a 2020–2021 large-scale soil sampling campaign across 53 forest sites in China, aiming to establish a mechanistic framework for DBC mobilization from soil. After surface litter removal, 8–12 soil cores (5×5 cm) were collected from two depth intervals per site; 4–6 cores were blended into composite samples, sieved to 2 mm (fine roots removed), and split for texture and chemical analyses.
