The Principality of Pontinha - covering an islet atop of which the Forte São José was built - is a micronation off the coast of Funchal, the main city of Madeira. The island is independent of Portugal as of 1903 and in 2015 adopted Bitcoin as the official currency. VR viewing recommended!
